Gluten Free Lentil Burger
If you are reading this, it is likely that you are vegan, vegetarian or you are on your journey to becoming one of the two. Or maybe you just want a nice recipe for someone who does not like meat.
Either way, you like the sound of a nice burger made of lentils. Here we go… This one is really simple.
These are really easy and quick to make. Very high in protein and fiber and we know lentil is considered a superfood. The turmeric in it makes it a twice as nutritious add the spices to make irresistibly tasty!
Apart from ingredients, you will also need just a few things such as -bowls, measuring cups and spoons, frying pan and I used a round cookie cutter for my mold to make them into the desired shape I wanted. I tried making one of them with my hands. I will show the result below.
Gather all ingredients and place them all together in a large enough bowl to mix them in.
First I added the lentil, then the rest of the ingredients on top as shown in the photos.
First I place the cookie cutter on a cutting board and then fill it up with the lentil burger mix.
The cookie cutter is about 1 1/4 inches in height, so I filled it up to the level of 1 inch. I needed 1 inch thick burgers.
I used a spoon to press the burgers into the mold and smooth off the top evenly.
This is what it looks like when it is molded with the cookie cutter. Really neat!

This was the final result! Awesome lentil burgers. They are sooooooo delicious!!!
Lentil Burger Recipe
Yield: 3 servings
Time: Prep 15 mins – Cook time 10 mins
Ingredients
1 1/2 Cup Lentil (cooked and drained)
1/4 Cup Cornstarch
1/4 Cup Carrot (finely chopped)
1 TBSP Turmeric Powder
1/4 Cup Tomato (deseeded and diced)
3 TBSP Scallion (chopped)
2 Tsp Marinade (substitute 1 1/2 tsp All purpose seasoning)
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Cup Vegetable Oil
Instruction
1) Combine all ingredients in a bowl
2) Form burgers into 1 inch thick circles or use a mold to assist you by pressing the mixture into it to let it form as densely as possible. You can use a cookie cutter or solid measuring cup for your mold. For this recipe, if you used a 1/4 cup measuring cup to form them. You will get nine. If you use a cookie cutter as I used here, you will get three burgers that are 4 inches in diameter
3) Heat Oil in a frying pan for 2 minutes or until it reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lower heat to medium
Gently lower burgers into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on each side.
Remove from oil and let them drain on a rack or paper towel.
Serve with lettuce, tomato, and bread if you so desire. I eat them without bread. Just slap on some ketchup and pepper sauce. hmmmmmm! Yummy!
