Are you going camping anytime soon?
Here is a fun way to cook to prevent cleaning up pots and pans. Oh, yea it is also good for portion control. He he he
Cooking in a juice box is not something I see every day. In fact, I have never seen it done before. I have this distant memory from I was about 11 years old of my big brother talking loosely that in prison in a certain country they make tea in a juice box. That’s it!
I decided to put that memory to a test and see what I could make of something that seems not so smart. Well to some people it will not make any sense at all. But to me, it was kind of fun cooking an egg in a box. I will be cooking lots of things in boxes as of now.
However if you think about it and if it actually works, then it would be such a cool idea for when you go on a camp or for a picnic or just a fun activity to do with your friends.
But how will that work? That is the main question that most of us will ask. A box is made of paper, when a fire comes in contact with paper it consumes it. Well, let us see how this experiment turns out.
First I put some water in the juice box a little above half and place it onto the stove. I started out with high flames so the box was destroyed a bit too quickly. The lower the flames, the more concentrated the fire will be on the bottom of the box which is the tougher area.
If you are willing to try out this experiment, lower the flames first to have the boiling going for longer without the box being destroyed too quickly.
In a minute or so the water in the box began to boil so I placed an egg inside to see if it could cook the egg.
In about the sixth minute of being on the fire, the juice box begins to give way as the fire burnt an opening in a small section where the box seemed more vulnerable.
The egg was hard boiled by that time. You may watch the video here.
I decided I would do some more cooking in a box… I think it’s cool. You let me know what you think in the comment section.
