I am sure we can all agree that easy chicken dinners are what is cooking in these times. Fast foods are convenient, but we are all looking for something a little more homey and delicious. What could be more convenient than a four-ingredient recipe that is ready to eat in half an hour!

What Is Baked Caesar Chicken?

This Baked Caesar Chicken is what I like to call a quick dish, using chicken breasts. The chicken coats in dressing and cheese. After that, the chicken is then baked for half an hour roughly, and voila!

Fun Facts

  • The Caesar dressing is native to Mexico, Tijuana
  • It only came about due to the 4th of July rush that depleted their ingredient stock for their regular meals.
  • Caesar salad was not named after Julius Caesar-like most people thought but after Caesar Cardini instead.

Origin:

The baked Caesar chicken is simple baked chicken. However, it pairs with the infamous Caesar salad dressing. The dressing came about by Caesar Cardini, an Italian restaurateur. He was short on ingredients which lead to the creation of the Caesar salad.

When To Serve?

Baked Caesar chicken serves best at dinners or night events. There are many occasions you can cook this up to include among your eating options. I prefer to make it for my family because I love seeing the excitement they create about it. I can assure you it will be a hit for any occasion.

Best served with

You know, one of the first things I thought after seeing how it came out was: You know this chicken would look great with a large baked potato. Just as I said it, I added it with a drizzle of butter, and it was delicious. You can also garnish with fresh herbs to add to its physical appeal and flavor.

Science Behind one of the main ingredients

Parmesan Cheese is a topping that completes a lot of dishes. Cheese adds a salty taste to food which contributes to the umami sense. Furthermore, the Parmesan in this dish added a depth of flavor and authenticity.

Method:

Prepare an 8×11 inch pan with cooking spray and set the oven to 375F.

Pound chicken to the required thickness and season with grated cheese and black pepper.

Whisk sour cream, Caesar dressing, and Parmesan cheese together. Place the chicken breast into the prepared dish and pour the sour cream mix on top of them.

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of the mixture and cook for 30 minutes. Broil for 4 minutes and let cool for 5 minutes, garnish if desired, and serve.

Meat pounder- this tool is also known as the meat tenderizer and is used to tenderize meat. It is in the form of a mallet and has a flat and pointy surface. In this dish, we use it to tenderize the meat and get it to the desired thickness.

Q&A

Q) Do I have to use the meat pounder in this recipe?

To get the meat to the required thickness yes, however, if you wish to keep it as is, you can bake it without the pounding process.

Q) What can I use as a substitute if I do not have a meat pounder?

You can use the bottom of a glass bottle wrapped with plastic or even the flat part of a small saucepan.
